Another example of taking something that works and making it better. Houston, Texas-based car tuners Hennessey Performance Engineering took a (heavily modified) Lotus Exige chassis, threw in a (heavily modified) Corvette engine, and kept tweaking until they had the Venom GT.
The Hennessey Venom GT can reach a speed of 260 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds.
